Use timers and the calendar

Running timers appear on their care cards on Log. Select a sleep, nursing or pumping card to pause, adjust or finish the timer.

Events includes unfinished timers in Day, Week and List, with dotted outlines and a localized running or paused label. Select one to open that timer’s card on Log, ready to pause, adjust or finish it. Stopping a timer replaces its unfinished block with the saved event; discarding it removes the block without creating a record.

Day and Week calendars show a current-time line that updates automatically and highlights today.

Timers help when the end time is not known yet. They record care; they do not provide health advice.

  1. Tap Start on the Sleep card, or L or R on the Nursing card.
  2. Check the care card’s running duration.
  3. For nursing, switch sides with → Right side or → Left side. Pause stops the clock for a break. When the activity ends, choose Save feed, Save sleep or Save pump; Discard removes the timer without saving.
  4. To correct when it began, open the running card and edit its start time.

To correct a timer’s time, turn the wheels, then choose Save changes. This updates the time while the timer keeps running. Cancel leaves the timer unchanged. If saving fails, the edit stays open so you can retry or cancel.

On iPhone timer notifications and interactive widgets, and Android notifications and 4×1/4×3 widgets, nursing and sided pumping offer Switch side, Pause and End. When paused, Start left or Start right resumes the same timer on that side; End saves it. Compact side buttons show the destination as L/R in English, without arrows, and retain full screen reader labels.

The Android 1×1 widget shows Pause/End while running. When paused, sided sessions show L/R without End; unsided sessions, including Sleep, show Resume alone. A pump started without a side stays unsided; on the surfaces with full controls it offers Pause/End, then Resume/End. End does not require milk output; unmeasured output stays empty. Other supported Sleep notifications and widgets keep their existing paused Resume/Save controls, including Save on the iPhone small widget. Correct start times in the app’s detail view; no running surface offers Started earlier.

On a watch, sided activities offer Left/Right, Pause and End. For pumping, End offers End without amount or Open on phone to enter it. An unmeasured amount stays blank; it is not saved as zero. The phone option leaves the timer unsaved until you finish there. Running live surfaces have no earlier-start shortcut; correct start times in the phone’s timer detail.

Running durations appear on the care cards. Select a card to open its timer controls.

In Events, choose List, Day or Week. Calendar blocks show when duration events occurred; overlapping care can appear in separate lanes. Use the date strip to change the date range. On a phone you can also swipe: drag the calendar sideways to move a day or week, drag anywhere else under the heading to switch between Day, Week and List, and drag the heading or the bottom bar to move between tabs. The same gestures move between periods in Summary; on an open Settings page, swipe right to return to the Settings list. Select the filter icon in any view to narrow records by one or more event types, the caregiver who added them, or how they were added (app, API, connected assistant, Alexa, or import). The filters stay active when you move between Day, Week and List.

To choose which view Events opens in, go to Settings → Preferences → Default Events view and pick Day, Week or List. The choice is saved to your account, so each caregiver keeps their own; a link to a particular view still opens that view.

The Events tab in Day view: a date strip across the top and a timeline with sleep blocks and shorter feed blocks.
Day view places each duration event on a timeline; overlapping care appears in separate lanes.
The Events tab in Week view showing seven day columns with sleep and feed blocks.
Week view shows the same blocks for seven days side by side.

Expected result: saving a timer creates one timeline event. Another signed-in caregiver may see the active timer after synchronization.

Do not use the calendar as medical guidance

The calendar summarizes entered records only. For feeding, sleep or health concerns, use guidance from your child's clinician.

In Summary, choose 7 days or 30 days to see daily averages and interactive daily trends beside population references. Hover, touch or use the arrow keys on a chart to inspect a date and value; choose a metric when a card offers several. Today shows the figures without charts. Choose which period Summary opens on in Settings → Preferences. These comparisons are not personal targets or health assessments. You may share factual records with a clinician, but do not use the comparisons alone to change care or delay help.

In the phone app, choose History to see older care records by calendar month. Choose a month directly or use the previous and next arrows. There is no recent-30-day cutoff. An empty month shows zero recorded care; if a month cannot load, use Try again. The current month includes today and earlier days only.

When caregiver-recorded sleep overlaps imported crib sleep, Day and Week show one continuous sleep entry with different tones for caregiver-recorded time and time in the crib. Overlap counts once. Select the entry to see the original records and open one to view or edit it; the original records also remain available in List. Separate, non-overlapping sessions stay separate.
